Hi, I’m Ariel.

I want you to better understand who I am, including my hobbies, obsessions, and personality. We’re all spiritual beings having a human experience! Here, you’ll see what I did before I started copywriting and discover a few fun facts about how I’m making the most of my experience.

My life before copywriting

Before I found my passion for copywriting, I gained extensive experience across various industries. I've worked at notable places like Victoria's Secret, Lacoste, Condoms to Go, Sara's Secret, NY & Company, Charlotte Russe, Extra Space Storage, coffee shops, and Texas Capital Bank. While in retail and the service industry, I often found myself in management roles, where I developed my leadership and organizational skills.

My journey has been one of overcoming challenges and seizing opportunities. Despite having to leave high school early to start working, I was determined to create a brighter future for myself. At 30, I decided to earn my high school diploma and pursue a career in medical assisting. I excelled in my studies, graduating with honors, and began working as a medical assistant. However, I soon realized that my true passion lay elsewhere, leading me to explore wealth management and ultimately discovering my love for copywriting.

Fun, Useless Facts You May Find Interesting:

What I Wanted to Be When I Grew Up:

Because I’m a social butterfly and passionate about people, I wanted to be a mortician when I grew up. I even interned at a funeral home my senior year in high school. People always thought it was weird, but what most people don’t realize is that funerals are for the living, not for the dead. Ironically enough, my husband works at the Veteran Memorial Cemetery in Dallas. What a match!

My Addictions:

Besides drinking too much espresso until I feel ready to rule the world, I’m a proud plant mom of over 500 houseplants. My husband used to scold me when I came home with a new plant. Now, he’s just as addicted as I am! Last but not least, I’m addicted to vintage items: antique furniture, mid-century mushroom decor, salt and pepper shakers, and even swag lamps. You can always find me booking staycations in small towns at a fun bed & breakfast and haunted hotels and constantly adding to my bucket list of places to go.

How I Express My Creativity

I’m crafty! My specialty is curiosities, skulls, taxidermy, dry specimens, and things I find in nature. Whenever I get on a Zoom call, I get compliments on the wall behind my desk, and you could say I have some great conversation starter pieces. I also create handmade items like terrariums, wreaths, and other eccentric home decor items. You could say I’m a real badass with a glue gun.

Don’t Judge Me… But:

In this day and age, nothing sounds crazy. Some call me a conspiracy theorist, but I identify as a conspiracy realist! Yes, that means I believe in aliens, cryptids, the Illuminati, and mermaids. Hey, it could be worse… I could be a flat earther. Ha! No judgment if that’s what you believe.

What do I do for fun?:

I’ve become a real nerd and spent countless hours researching on Ancestry.com. My family was among the first men and women to come to America. I’m also a descendant of three accused witches during the Salem Witch Trials. I’m ashamed to say it, but I’m also related to King Henry VIII. I won’t lie; I’m addicted to this historical research!

I’ll be the first to admit that I identify as a full-on emo elder and a 90s baby. In my spare time, you’ll find me at a show! My taste in music is extensive, but I’m a sucker for hardcore, emo, and, most of all, 90’s alternative. The bands I’ve seen include Senses Fail, Bayside, A Day To Remember, Alanis Morisette, Hootie & The Blowfish, Collective Soul, Joan Jett, Heart, ZZ-Top, Judas Preist, The Who, Miley Cyrus, Silverstein, Taking Back Sunday, and more! You could say I’m a music connoisseur.
